Calculate your Body Mass Index and see which weight category you fall into.
How the calculation works
BMI divides your weight in kilograms by your height in metres squared. Adults are generally grouped as underweight (below 18.5), normal (18.5 to 24.9), overweight (25 to 29.9) and obese (30 and above). BMI is a screening tool and does not measure body fat directly.
Formula used
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)²; for pounds and inches: BMI = 703 × weight (lb) ÷ height (in)²
Example
A person who is 70 kg and 170 cm tall has a BMI of 24.2, which is in the normal range.
