Estimate how much concrete and how many bags you need for a slab, footing, wall or round column.
Formula used
Slab volume = length × width × thickness; Column volume = π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × height
Example
A 10 ft by 10 ft slab that is 4 inches thick needs about 1.3 cubic yards, or about 59 bags of 80 lb mix, with 5% waste.
Frequently asked questions
Why add waste?
Spills, uneven ground and over-excavation use more concrete than the plan.
Are bag sizes exact?
Bag yields vary by brand. Check the bag label.
